This Wednesday the 100th anniversary Newport Harbor Boat Parade starts! We are taking reservations each night, up to 20 people, for a $40 package that includes parking ($25 value), Champagne, flight of wine, hors d'oeuvres and cheeses. The event starts at 6:30 and the boats pass the Lab starting at 8 PM. Wednesday is already booked. Only 4 spots available on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday still have good availability. A Tale of Three Clones...
About 22 years ago, on our first trip from Indiana to Santa Barbara, we stopped at Cambria Winery. This started our love affair with Pinot Noir. On our second visit, I tasted a "clonel pair" - two Pinot Noirs, each composed of a single clone. I loved them! Viticulturists have identified many clones in the Pinot Noir family and they are usually blended to create complexity. Rarely does a vintner bottle single clone wines unless they are very good. Cambria has been doing this in small quantities for a long time, normally only for their club members. These delicious and meticulously made wines are their top of the line and, at the winery, are priced at $48. I scooped up one case of each clone: 2A, 23, 115 and can sell them for only $29.99. For the wine geek, get a three clone pack, enjoy the subtle differences, then blend them together for a bonus treat. This is a unique gift for the Pinot lover.

There are two dedicated spots outside of the entry gate - no need for validation. If those spots are filled, enter the garage and park in any visitor spot and we will validate your ticket. If someone is collecting a parking fee - tell them you are going to the Wine Lab and take a ticket.
