Castalia Rochioli Vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir

Three months ago a friend of mine told me that they tasted the Castalia Rochioli Vineyard Pinot Noir at the OC Wine Society Extraordinaire. They gave the winemaker my card and he called me. We rendezvoused at Baja Fresh and I tasted it out of a plastic cup. It was great! I bought a case for the Lab on the spot. Little has sold - probably because of these econ-times. This wine just got some super recognition:

2007 Castalia Rochioli was the highest scoring Pinot Noir in the latest edition of the Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - 96 Points
"This altogether lovely Pinot is among the most polished and most finely balanced bottlings of this issue's gathering, and it is also among the fruitiest. Optimally ripened with nary a hint of sloppy softness, it is all velvet on the palate and is marked at every turn by deep, cherry-like fruit, touches of violet and uncannily well-proportioned oak. As persistent on the palate as it is so very deep in character, it is a compelling look at the varietal that manages to be at one and the same time open and friendly and altogether serious."
