After our L'Aventure event last evening, I can't help but re-post an email sent out by a wine discounter today. We gave our customers the same pricing as this warehouse wine operation. We seek your wine business and will extend price matching for these wines through this weekend.

"The Wine @!u& had the chance to taste all of these wines last week and we'll honestly say it's the best we've tasted from L'Aventure. I've included last years press to give you an idea of how exciting and collectible these wines are. Also this is our first time offering the Cote-a-Cote to our clients."

Kudos to Stephan Asseo for taking full advantage of the phenomenal 2007 vintage.

All wines sell for $74.99 Limited!

2007 Estate Cuvee
(Cab/Syrah/Petite Verdot)

2006 Vintage
97 Points Wine Advocate #177

A thrilling, nearly perfect effort. A blend of 49% Syrah, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. Tasting like a superb example of a premier grand cru St.-Emilion made from California-s limestone soils, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as a perfume of sweet creme de cassis, fruitcake, licorice, incense, cigar leaf, and spice box.

2007 Cote-a-Cote
(Syrah/Grenache/Mouvedre)

2006 Vintage
96 Points Wine Advocate #177

A blend of 40% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, and 30% Syrah. It possesses an inky/purple color along with a sumptuous, sweet bouquet of roasted meats, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, licorice, and chocolate. Dense and full-bodied with fabulous intensity, opulence, and flesh, but no hard edges, it will provide immense satisfaction over the next decade.

2007 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

2005 Vintage
94+ Points Wine Advocate #172

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses an opaque inky/purple color, and a gorgeous nose of graphite, creme de cassis, cedar, and new oak. When I smelled and tasted this majestic wine, it reminded me of the 2006 Mouton Rothschild. This gorgeous Cabernet can compete with the finest Napa Valley cult wines, but it requires 3-4 years of cellaring. It should keep for 2-3 decades. Bravo!

Four Vines postscript

The Four Vines winery event was a blowout. I'd like to apologize to those of you who made reservations and arrived to find there was no room to sit. Our idea to take reservations on the hour did not account for those who stayed two (or three.) We'll work to improve our system for future winery events.

The most popular wines were:
2007 “Naked” Chardonay ($11.99) [fantastic QPR!]
2007 j dusi “Dante Dusi” Zinfandel ($29.99)
2007 Heretic Petite Sirah ($38.99)
2007 The Peasant ($38.99)
2007 Sophisticate Zinfandel ($23.99)

The last 3 wines were samples air-shipped for the event. Orders were taken. The Heretic is very limited and I will get only one chance to order. If you have not pre-ordered your Heretic yet, let us know by April 13. The Peasant and the Sophisticate will be the next most allocated. email sales@winelabnewport.com
