Wine Tasting - no rules but a few tips:
- Don't wear perfume or cologne - it interferes with your, and your neighbors, ability to enjoy the aromas of wine (80% of our sense of taste.)
- A wine glass has a stem for a reason: it keeps the heat of your hand from the wine. Unless you want to warm up your wine (rarely) keep your hand on the stem and off the bowl.
- Most wine is meant to play off food - so order some cheese or a pizza to balance out your palate.
- The most important thing about tasting is deciding if YOU like it or not. Don't listen to friends or critics. Everyone's palate is different so embrace yours.
